Obituary for William "Bill" Turner

William "Bill" Turner, age 70, passed away in his home Monday November 21, 2022.

The family will receive friends at the old sanctuary of Cain's Chapel United Methodist Church from 12-1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m., with Dr. Gary Stringfellow officiating.

Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sallie Ramona Turner: his dad, George O Turner; two sisters, Sharon and Janine and 1 brother, Chris; his children Teresa Dehart of Gainesville Florida, Chris (Tiffany) Beasley of Hayden Alabama, Jessica (Brad) Galloway of Warrior Alabama, Stephanie (Abraham) Cruz of Prattville al, and 12 grandchildren: Briana, Taylor, Jacob, Emma, Blake, Zoey, Jenna, Faith, Kara, Alex, Connor, and Lucy Kate.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Ludy Turner and a son Paul Turner.

Bill worked as a Boilermaker with the Local 108 for more than 20 years. Bill genuinely enjoyed to travel, and his work allowed him to see many parts of the country. He was very proud of the work he did. Bill was a self-taught man in many areas with everything from maintenance to technology. There wasn't much you could ask him to build or fix that he couldn't figure out how to do.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles with Mona when he was home between jobs. They would just get on the bikes and ride whenever they could.
Bill was an amazing Opa to his 12 grandchildren. There weren't many special occasions that he missed spending with them or calling them. He loved sharing his eclectic taste of music with both his daughters and grandchildren, everything from AC/DC to Usher! He also enjoyed taking the kids for rides on the motorcycle whenever they visited and the weather was nice.

Revelations 21:4- "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

Psalm 73:26- "My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever."
