Obituary for Thomas Edward Roland III

On January 7, 2022, Thomas Edward Roland III passed at the age of 64 in Wetumpka, Alabama, at his home.

He was born to the late Polly O Roland and Thomas E. Roland Jr. on March 12, 1957, in Bitburg Germany. Shortly after Tom’s birth his family moved to Merced, California. Through the years his family traveled to many different locations before settling in Montgomery, Alabama, where he then graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1975. He met his now wife, Teresa Alexander Roland, and children in 1995. He became deeply invested in becoming the most befitting husband and father. Tom was a very well-regarded gunsmith, wholesaler of sporting goods, and for the past 19 years he valued his career as a warehouse manager. Tom will be forever remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, brother, and papa. He was a known animal lover, music connoisseur, and gun enthusiast. Tom loved to give his family meaningful gifts and spent his life collecting mementos for his family to treasure and to remember him. He was a reserved man, but he could always create a smile with his wit and tongue-in-cheek humor. Tom was well respected throughout the community for his passion in his vast careers and for helping others.

Tom is survived by his Wife, Teresa Roland; Children, Heather Hodnett married to Jason Hodnett, Kim Sacks married to Bryce Sacks, and Kathy Webber married to Michael Webber; Grandchildren, KZ Hodnett, Skylor Hodnett, and Juniper Sacks; and Siblings, Linda R. Hughes married to James V.Hughes and William M. Roland married to Christine M. Roland; Nieces, Brittney O Roland, and Emily K. Rhodes married to Jake T. Rhodes.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Skip Alexander officiating.
