Obituary for Tammy Oates Alexander

Tammy Alexander, a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Central, Alabama, at the age of 63. Born on January 9, 1960, in Wetumpka, Alabama, she was a true Southern belle who touched the hearts of all who knew her. She enjoyed the street dances and other events in downtown Wetumpka.

Tammy met Wayne in 1986, who would be the man that she would spend the rest of her life with. They raised two loving daughters, who in turn blessed them with six wonderful grandchildren. In addition to raising two daughters and taking an active role in the lives of her grandchildren, Tammy took several children into her home. Some were children of troubled family members and others were friends that needed a place to stay. Even during the times in which she had little, she always had enough to share.

Tammy is preceded in death by her father Bud Oates and Mother Joan Oates. She is survived by her loving husband Wayne, her two daughters Tabatha (Mike), Kimberly (Adam) six grandchildren, Anna, Kaitlyn, Addyson, Kellan, Alexander and Kent, Sister Georgie Ann Oates Stumpp as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories that will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A celebration of Tammy's life will be held at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Roney and Dr. Melvin Ervin PhD. in Central, AL. followed by graveside service at Equality Methodist Church Cemetery with a reception to follow back at Central Baptist. Tammy's playful spirit and unwavering love will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on through the lives of those she touched.

The family would like to extend a huge Thank You to Ivy Creek Hospice care, who in her final days of life took great care of her. Especially her nurse Teri Bence. As Well as The members of Central Baptist Church who for months prayed, visited, and dropped meals off.

Services Will be Held Tuesday March 21st, 2023.
