Obituary for Shari L Newell

Shari Lynette Peplow Newell was born in Pekin, Illinois on January 17, 1950. She was the second daughter to Kenneth Richard Peplow and Doris Marie Whitney Peplow, and younger sister to Teresa Jolene Peplow Uhler. The family spent years traveling with the Army, so Shari grew up in Japan and Germany and loved those years. Shari would later sing with a group in her young adult life and even attended modeling school. In 1973, Shari married childhood friend, Stanley Newell. She was as wonderful a military wife as she had been as a military daughter. In 1976, Shari gave birth to her only child and incredibly handsome son, Christopher Sean Newell. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Shari was the epitome of a gracious hostess. She was fabulous at hosting family and friends, always ready with a menu and an open door to greet everyone. She loved to shower her family with home-cooked meals and music playing. One of Shari’s great talents was family poker and playing pinochle. After serving you a delicious meal, she was not ashamed to beat you in cards and take your money. Throughout her life, Shari enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, and fishing.

Shari passed on October 19, 2022. She was surrounded by her loved ones and went peacefully. Shari is preceded in death by both of her parents and her sister. She leaves behind her husband, Stan. Her son Chris and his wife Autumn Marie. Her two granddaughters, Annabelle Grace and Allianne Grace. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
