Obituary for Peggy T. Cardwell Kelley
KELLEY, Peggy T. Cardwell, left this earth to be in the presence of her heavenly Father.
After a lengthy bout of covid-34 days in the hospital. She being of small stature fought like a lioness defending her cubs to overcome her illness. Her only surviving child watched and comforted her as she took her last breath on this earth. She is in Heaven with her family who had gone on before her. We will miss this loving mother, faithful wife and a true friend. Peggy known as Patsy to most was preceded in death by her loving husband Carles T. Cardwell of 40 + years; son Samuel Alan McEwen; daughter Cinthia Patrice Cardwell; mother Jewell B. Thomas; father Curtis Thomas. Her surviving son John R. McEwen; granddaughter Maliea Marie Driver; grandson Stanley Alan McEwen; grandchildren Kolbie Driver; Madalyn Driver, Macey Driver; and a grandson to be born Samuel Driver; also grandchildren Alyssa McEwen and Chloe McEwen; also survived by her husband Bud Olan Kelley and son John R. McEwen.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Guthrie officiating. Burial will be at Wayside Baptist Cemetery in Rockford, Alabama with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
