Obituary for Myrna Colquitt Edgar
EDGAR, Myrna Colquitt, a resident of Deatsville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the age of 86.
She was a longtime faithful member of Deatsville Baptist Church. She retired from Elmore County Board of Education as the Child Nutrition Supervisor.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Bozeman officiating. Burial will be at Deatsville Community Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
Mrs. Edgar is preceded in death by her husband William J. Edgar and parents John Clayton & Cora Law Colquitt; four siblings LaNell Phillips, Pauline Blankenship, Morris Colquitt, and Hazel Taylor. She is survived by her children Richard Edgar (Becky), W. Clayton Edgar (Pam), J. Lee Edgar (Traci); nine grandchildren: Laura Edgar (Seth Kochera), Joseph Edgar (Michelle), Jonathan Edgar (Lark), Rachel Edgar Ferraro, Bethany Wehby (Adam), Chris Edgar, Caroline Edgar, Campbell Edgar, Camille Edgar; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express appreciation to two faithful caregivers, Dinah Thomas and Debbie Moore.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Edgar, Jonathan Edgar, Chris Edgar, Kyndall Taylor, Seth Kochera, and Adam Wehby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Deatsville Chapel and Cemetery Association, 686 Gantt Road, Deatsville, Alabama 36022.
