Maxine was born February 7, 1936, in Robinson Springs Alabama to Christopher Carson Anderson and Dera Kelley Anderson. She attended Auburn University and was a devoted Tiger fan.
Maxine was an avid outdoors woman, a skilled hunter that could hold her own with any turkey or dove enthusiast. She was colorful, eccentric, and painfully honest in her opinions. If she loved you she did so deeply.
Maxine leaves her cherished memories to her husband Bryan Whitfield Compton, her surviving sisters, Gerry Luster and Kaye Anderson; her daughter, Kelley Parris (James Walter Wood); son James Christopher "Jim" Parris (Jamie); her beloved grandson Martin Anthony (Rocky) Lyons, Jr. (Lindsay); her adored great grandchildren, Liv-Maxine Lyons, Martin Anthony (Rush) Lyons, lll. Her stepchildren, Mary Catherine Compton; David Taylor Compton (Taylor Ian Compton, Nolan Whitfield Compton, Ethan David Compton); Eleanor Ann Arnold (Audrey Rose Arnold, Natalie Whitfield Arnold, Daniel Drake Arnold); Bryan Whitfield Compton, lll (predeceased); and her loved friend Margaret Baty.
Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Trinity Episcopal Church
401 N Main Ave, Demopolis, AL 36732, with an 11:00 service and reception immediately following.
