Obituary for Lena Mae Walker

WALKER, Lena Mae Barrett, age 94, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. Lena, a lifelong resident of Wetumpka, was born on May 4, 1927 to Isaac and Susan Ellena Barrett.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Little, and son, Jack Jr (Marguerite), grandchildren Craig Little (Cathy), Laura Taylor (Reid), Ben Little (Leigh), Jason Walker (Marcia), Jared Walker (Kelli-Jo), and Kalan Tomlin, along with 18 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews from multiple generations.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack Sr, her son, Tommy, and her 9 brothers.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wetumpka, and was part of a wonderful community of friends through the church. She was a loving mother, a sweet, sweet MaMaw, a great sister to all of those Barrett boys, and a wonderful Aunt Lena Mae. While we will miss her energy, laughter, and all of the love she showed her family, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is at peace in the presence of our Lord.

Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church of Wetumpka at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 12, with the funeral service following at the church at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Pine View Gardens with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.

Pallbearers will be Ray Barrett, Nealy Barrett, Mark Barrett, Jack Barrett, Richard Barrett, & Bobby Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Barrett, Curt Barrett, & Bill Barrett.
