Obituary for Larry Turner
TURNER, Larry, a resident of Elmore County, Alabama passed away at his home on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the age of 78.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Seman Baptist Church with Bro. David Braden officiating. Burial will be at Seman Baptist Church Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
He is survived by his wife Lila and a son Terry; two brothers Bill Turner, Gene Gunter; one sister Phyllis Whaley; five grandsons; and one great-grandson Ikaris Turner. He is preceded in death by his mother Eloise Gunter; son Trevor Turner; step-father Howard Gunter Sr.; his father William C. Turner; brother Terry Turner; and a host of relatives and friends.
Larry served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and served bravely in the Viet Nam conflict and was awarded many citations and awards. Larry worked in many fields of engineering & electronics, engineering assistant and technical installation supervisor. He was employed at the Lockheed-Georgia Company, Marietta, Georgia and worked on the C-5 aircraft project. Before retiring, he was employed at AUM University as a computer technician.
