Obituary for John Duane Hendrickson

On 1 April 2023, John Duane Hendrickson, a loving husband and father, passed peacefully at the age of seventy-five. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes to those who knew and loved him.

Born to Floryne and William Hendrickson, John graduated from North High School in Columbus, Ohio. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970 in Vietnam and Korea. In 1975, John met his loving wife, Terry, in Arizona while traveling out West, and they were married a year later. The two eventually settled in Wetumpka, Alabama, and were together for nearly 47 years. A cowboy at heart, John was an avid roper, most comfortable in the saddle, and he loved the outdoors and working with his hands.

John is survived by his wife, Terry Hendrickson; daughter, Heather Cardini-McCann
(Vincent Cardini-McCann); son, Scott Hendrickson (Sasha Mrak Hendrickson); grandson, Connor Hendrickson; granddaughter, Mila Hendrickson; brother, Jim Hendrickson (Mary Hendrickson); and niece, Kira Sullivan (Dan Sullivan and Freya Sullivan).

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Thursday, 6 April 2023 at 5:00pm at his home, 120 Bond Drive, Wetumpka, Alabama. To honor his memory, and in lieu of flowers, please donate to your local humane shelter or horse rescue.
