Obituary for Jessie Dean Lett Varner

Jessie Dean Lett Varner left her earthly home in Rushenville Alabama to be with her Lord and Savior on December 25, 2022. She was born on April 28, 1926, in Rushenville Alabama. Dean was the second youngest of the six children in the James Jack L. and Mary Jessie Lett family. She was a long-time faithful member of the Rushenville Baptist Church and loved the Lord. She was an accomplished cook (especially sweets) and loved to provide Birthday cakes to her family and friends. A graduate of the Class of 1946 of Elmore County High School, she worked at the Elmore County High School Lunchroom for many years and shared her cooking skills with many people. Known for her ready wit, humor and beautiful spirit, she was a positive influence in so many peoples lives and will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents James Jack and Mary Jessie Lett, three husbands Algie Boulware, John Veach and Orris Varner, one sister Carrie Nell Lanier and three brothers, Nolen Lett, Audrey Lett and George Lett.
Left to cherish her memory are sister-in-law Oreva Lett, nieces, and nephews Frank (Janet) Lanier, John (Carol) Lanier, Sidney Lanier, Gwen (Roy) Harrison, Lynn (Linda) Lett, Karyn (J.D.) Perez, James A. (Buddy) Lett. Great nieces and nephews are Lindsay Kennington, Carrie Ann Burnett, Melinda Crouch, Joshua Lanier, Christopher Lett, Jessica Perez and Hannah Allen and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends one hour before the celebration of life service on December 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rushenville Baptist Church. Reverend Ron Estes will be presiding.

Pallbearers will be Frank Lanier, John Lanier, Sidney Lanier, Lynn Lett, Christopher Lett, and Jared Kennington. Interment will be immediately following the service at the Bullard Cemetery in Eclectic, Alabama
