Obituary for Jerry Franklin Chandler

CHANDLER, Jerry Franklin, 85, of Wetumpka entered into God’s kingdom on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Robert Mullins officiating. Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.

Jerry was born October 4, 1937 to S. Edward and Jewel Chandler in Madison County, Georgia.

After graduating high school, Jerry Married the love of his life, Joy Wood. They would go on to live a happy and fulfilling life together for over 65 years.

A man of true integrity. He focused on providing his family with the best life possible. Jerry was truly a great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family that loves him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.

Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Joy; parents, Edward and Jewel Chandler; brother, William Chandler; and sisters, Rene Moseman, Jean Edwards, and Mary Ella Brooks.

Jerry, the most loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather is survived by his children, Cheryl (Mack) Free and Randall Chandler; granddaughter, Meagan (Daniel) Daly; grandson, Michael (Kristin) Chandler; great-granddaughters, Addie Daly and Rylie Chandler; great-grandsons, Caden Lockhart and Joseph Daly. Also survived by brothers, Jack (Mildred) Chandler, Bobby (Gwen) Chandler; sister, Maudene McCannon and many nieces and nephews.
