Obituary for James O. Graham
Graham, James O., a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the age of 94.
A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with his grandson, Andrew Graham, officiating, Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
Mr. Graham was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Joan Thornell Graham, and their son, Gregory James Graham. He is survived by his daughters, Janna (Doug) Smith and Jennifer Graham; grandchildren, Andrew (Hannah) Graham, Anna Grace Graham, Elijah Graham, Abbie Meadows, Colby (Madi) Smith, Drew (Ben) Powell, Lane Smith, and Lauren Smith, along with 3 great-grandchildren and many extended family members.
Mr. Graham served in the United States Army and saw action in the Korean War. He received the Occupation Medal (Japan), the Korean Service Medal with 1 bronze service star, 1 Overseas Service Bar, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the United Nations Service Medal. After returning from the war, Mr. Graham had a career of nearly 40 years as a food broker, working all across the Southeast. He was known by all to be a hard-working man who loved his family dearly.
Jimmy Smith, John Cleland, Elijah Graham, Lane Smith, Andrew Moss, and Jordan Nelson will be serving as pall bearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Montgomery, 1111 Holloway Park, Montgomery, AL 36117.
