Obituary for Henryk Jozef Miszkiel

MISZKIEL, Henryk Jozef, a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at the age of 77.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Thomas officiating.

Mr. Miszkiel is preceded in death by his parents Stanislaw & Anna Miszkiel; and his brother John Miszkiel. He is survived by his wife Sue Miszkiel; children Violet (husband Chase) Thomas, Angela Vickers, Heather Wilson, Christopher Miszkiel; sister Susan (husband Robert) Sallee; brother Michael Miszkiel; several nieces and nephews.

He was the oldest of four children. He graduated from Tekamah High School in Nebraska. As a young child, he loved taking pictures which led him to attend Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Henry enjoyed working on cars and restored a model T Ford. He loved construction and built his very own home for himself and his family. Henry later served as a combat aerial photographer in Vietnam and was wounded in action. He enjoyed a career working at GE which took him to Alabama, where he met Sue, his wife. Henry was a loving husband and father, with nothing more important than his family. Henry appreciated the simple pleasures of life – an Alabama football game and a warm cup of tea. He enjoyed traveling and took great pride in his work. He will be remembered for his sweet smile, his kindness to all, and his loyalty and love to family and friends.
