Obituary for Gregory James Graham
GRAHAM, Gregory James, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the age of 55.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Morningview Baptist Church, 125 Calhoun Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, with his son, Andrew Graham, Dr. Shawn Merithew, Dr. Greg Belser, and Rev. Jordan Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Alabama Heritage Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
He is preceded in death by his mother Joan Thornell Graham. He is survived by Jennifer, his wife of 31 years; sons Elijah Graham, Andrew (Hannah) Graham; daughter Anna Grace Graham; grandchildren Haddon & Charlotte; father James Graham; sister Janna (Doug) Smith; father-in-law Guin (Sue) Butler; godparents Donald & Charlotte Hall; brother-in-law Joey (Juliet) Butler; Devoted God Parents, Don & Charlotte Hall; nieces and nephews; and many other family members and close friends.
To those who knew him, Greg was a simple man who loved well—he loved the outdoors, good music, good food, his friends, his family, and above all, his Lord Jesus Christ. His love for his Lord was evident through the hospitality and loyal love he showed to so many over the years. He was a faithful member of Morningview Baptist Church for nearly 33 years, serving for many years as a pastor. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith, John Cleland, Elijah Graham, Philip Stewart, Cody Floate, Joshua Saylor, Joey Butler and Ben Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Harrison Lott, James Shirley, Doug Smith, Trey Holley, Bryant Cagle, Brandon Ash, Jason McHenry and Stephen Bray.
