Obituary for Elizabeth S. (Williams) Wuokko

Elizabeth S. (Williams) Wuokko of Wetumpka, Alabama, entered into the Lord’s arms on February 2, 2023, at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on October 22, 1963, to Sammy and Elizabeth Williams of Montgomery.
Elizabeth graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1982 and obtained her Business Administration degree from Troy State University while working full-time. She was employed at the Alabama Housing Finance Authority for 33 years.

She was an enthusiastic member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery and the Seabrook/Monroe Sunday School Class. She served as Director of the FBC Single Adult Sunday School group and as a Board Member of Good Times YMCA.

Elizabeth enjoyed her home life with her husband and son, and their dog, and walking through their close-knit neighborhood. Gifted with a kind and generous spirit, Elizabeth was always willing to help those in need. She loved spending time with current friends and making new ones, coordinating baby showers, helping her friend’s catering business, and operating a Photo Booth business with her husband and son. She loved sharing dinners with her Birthday Girls Group.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 24 years, Darryl, and her son, Riley; fraternal twin brother Sammy (Shannon) Williams and sister Terry Williams; brothers-in-law, Ron (Karen) Wuokko, Dale (Renee) Wuokko, Larry Wuokko, Randy (Donna) Wuokko; sisters-in-law Linda Wuokko and Deanna Wuokko; aunts Margaret and Elsie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Connie Williams, and niece, Lauren Williams.

A special thank you to Deanna for providing loving, at-home care help.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Montgomery (Stakely Sanctuary, South Perry Street) on Thursday, February 9 at 12:00 with visitation from 10-12. The service will be officiated by Jay Wolfe.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Humane Society of Elmore County, 255 Central Plank Road, Wetumpka, AL 36092.
