Obituary for Donnie Leon Harden Sr.
Mr. Donnie Leon Harden, Sr. of Wetumpka passed away February 11, 2023 in Montgomery. He was 84 years old.
Mr. Harden was a 1956 graduate of Evergreen High School. He honorably served in the United States Army. He also managed WBLO for many years and retired from Larry Puckett Chevrolet in Prattville.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am., Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home. John Johnston will officiate and the eulogy will be given by Morgan Harden Wiggins. Cope-Keahey is entrusted with these arrangements.
Survivors include, his beloved wife, Melba Harden of Wetumpka, sons, Donnie Leon (Kim) Harden Jr. of Stewart, FL, Samuel Morris Harden of Montgomery and James Gilbert (Robin) Harden of Evergreen, daughters, Michelle Long and Kathy (Greg) Wilkins of Wetumpka, grandchildren, Nathan Harden, Morgan (Myles) Wiggins, Bentley Harden, Garrett Harden and Seth Wilkins and great-grandchildren, Evie Mason Wiggins and Samuel Hugh Wiggins.
A special thanks to his devoted friend Margaret McGough for always taking such good care of him. The family would also like to extend our gratitude to the wonderful staff at Baptist East Hospital specifically those in the ICU and the ER for their loving care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Morris Harden and Alice Stinson Harden, sister, Baby Harden and brothers, Paul Morris Harden Sr. and Larry Herbert Harden.
