Obituary for Annabelle "Belle" Souza

Annabelle "Belle" (Heisler) Souza, 72, of Wetumpka, AL, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. She was born to the late Nathan "Pete" and Beryl Heisler on May 22,1949 in Montgomery, AL and was welcomed by four sisters, Barbara Norris, Joan Richburg, June Tisdale, and Connie Staples of which June and Connie are now laid to rest. Later, her brother Phillip Heisler came along and has since been laid to rest as well.

Belle is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Souza, her cherished daughters Whitney Bing, Stephanie Carlyle, Keelie Weinmann (John), and Sabrina Squier, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members and friends.

She retired with the State of Alabama Personnel Department in Montgomery. In her younger years, she was a beautician and also worked with the Elmore County School System in Holtville.

Besides her family, animals were her great passion. She has regaled most of us with memories of her childhood horses, dogs and other pets with such love and passion. Together, she and her husband ran a successful kennel and championed several Skye Terriers in AKC dog shows. Never limited to just one breed, she loved, raised, trained, rescued and cherished many purebred and mixed breed dogs who were her loving and faithful companions, even until her passing. That love, passion and care she showed us and her animals will be greatly missed.

The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11am at Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka, AL with graveside interment of her ashes at Pineview Memorial Gardens directly after service.

The family is accepting flowers for her service.

If preferred instead, donations in her name can be made to the Humane Society of Elmore County www.elmorehumane.org.
